The Jack Version
AN AI DECLARATION:
Grammar Corrected using Grammarly
What you do on your Posts and even when you comment on my posts is up to you, but if you comment on my Posts or my Company's posts and use AI, I simply encourage you to let us know what AI you used and where you used it.
These are words of encouragement as I have no desire to police comments that might be written by AI. I worry that we will start to think of LinkedIn posts the same way I began to view Facebook. What are those thoughts? A disproportionate feeling of perfection when compared to the mess that is reality. I AM SO tired of perfect and have a great appreciation for imperfection. How else can I learn from my mistakes and yours. How can I teach you my lessons learned if I hide my imperfections?
I want to maintain a space to share thoughts and ideas with humans. I in no way object to the use of AI or AI tools, but I do not see a reason or inappropriateness to acknowledge where we got help from these tools.
This is one of my favorite human characteristics.
So far I am Pro Generative AI. I both think it is ok for lawsuits to go ahead for plagiarism and to be hypocritical do believe we can find a new balance for these tools.
I recently read an article from a member of Microsoft's Co-Pilot team who made the argument to throw everything at AI, including getting advice first from chatbots before talking to your human friends. THIS IS STUPID... As a technologist, I am suspicious when everything is the answer, but I am just as suspicious of the idea that we should use zero Generative AI tools.
My Generic Beliefs
**Do not replace your TRUSTED family and friends as a FIRST resource for advice.
**I love technology, but it is not the answer to solving every problem. And this is especially true when it comes to Generative AI.
**Cancer runs in the males on my Dad's side, and it ended up getting him. I am more than okay with AI helping accelerate research, assuming it can solve an issue I may have in the future.
**I have used Grammarly's AI assistance in this post to help create clarity for my writing, and it has been an incredible tool for helping people understand my thoughts with fewer fragmented thoughts and sentences.
So we all have many conclusions and decisions to make about what and how we use generative AI, but I encourage everyone to ignore calls for NO AI at all and equally use it for everything.
If an AI robot dies in the future, it is unlikely that you will miss its smell on a pillow or its favorite T-shirt. And my trust is reserved for things that produce methane whether the methane is loud upon its exit or silent but deadly.

I believe in embracing the use of AI tools while also acknowledging their role in our interactions. When engaging with my posts or those of my company, if AI is involved in your comments, I simply ask that you disclose the AI used and its application. This transparency fosters a space where imperfection is valued over an artificial sense of flawlessness.
I advocate for maintaining a platform where genuine human thoughts and ideas are shared. While I support the utilization of AI tools, I see the importance of recognizing their influence in our communication.
As someone in favor of Generative AI, I acknowledge the need for a balanced approach in its use. While I appreciate technological advancements, I believe they should complement rather than replace human connection and critical thinking.
In addressing personal experiences like familial health concerns, I see the potential of AI in advancing research and solutions. Tools like Grammarly have aided me in articulating my thoughts effectively, enhancing clarity in my writing.
We must navigate the integration of Generative AI thoughtfully, neither dismissing its potential nor over-relying on it. Let's approach AI integration with discernment, avoiding extremes of total rejection or unrestricted dependence.
In contemplating the future of AI, let's remember the essence of humanity in our interactions, valuing authentic connections over automated responses.
